The new direction looks good. I’ll bring the final designs to our review.

GIVE THE WORK A PLACE TO TALK

The right conversation. The right people.

Put project updates in a channel, ask a teammate directly, or bring a small group together. Keep the conversation close to the people and work it belongs to.

  • Channels give projects and topics a shared home.
  • Direct and group messages make smaller discussions easy.
  • Private channels keep access with their members.
Create your first channel

Chat is for your AppStruct workspace. “Public” channels are visible within the workspace, not on the open web.

The launch brief is ready. Can we review the open questions here?

Yes — I’ll add the design notes to the thread.

A shared place for updates, questions, and decisions.

GO DEEPER WITHOUT LOSING THE CHANNEL

Keep the detail in the thread.

A question can become a whole discussion. Reply in a thread to keep that discussion attached to the original message, and follow it when you want to return to the detail.

Replies stay connected

The original question stays in view.

Follow the discussion

Find followed threads from your thread view.

What needs to be ready before we share the launch?

The main channel keeps the question. The thread holds the working detail.

LESS SCROLLING BACK. MORE MOVING FORWARD.

Make the useful things easy to return to.

Search the text of channel messages, pin a decision for the conversation, or save a message for yourself. Different tools for the context you need next.

  1. Find the message

Look for words in the main message text across conversations you can access.

  2. Pin for the channel

Keep a useful answer or decision in the channel’s pinned messages.

  3. Save for yourself

Build a personal collection of messages you want to revisit.

Keep links close, too.

Channel bookmarks give shared web links a place beside the conversation.

There are two directions in the brief. Want to talk them through?

Jamie Taylor14:06

Yes. Let’s start a call from this conversation.

A conversation can become a call.

Choose “Call preview” above to explore the example layout.

SOME THINGS ARE EASIER TO SAY

When text needs a conversation, talk it through.

Start a call from a channel or direct conversation when the detail needs a back-and-forth. The earlier messages give everyone a place to begin.

  • Start or join a call from the conversation.
  • Check camera and microphone choices before joining.
  • Return to the same conversation for the next steps.

Calls are for signed-in workspace members with access to the conversation. Audio and video require a supported browser and device permissions.

START WITH THE CONVERSATION YOU NEED TODAY

A little more context. A clearer next step.

You do not need to move every conversation at once. Start with one project, one team, or one update, and give it a home in Chat.

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW

Good questions.
Clear answers.

Still have a question? Talk to us

Can I talk privately as well as in channels?

Yes. Use project or topic channels, one-to-one messages, and group DMs with existing teammates in the same workspace. Public channels are workspace-visible, while private channels are limited to invited members.

How do threads keep a discussion organized?

Reply in a thread to keep the discussion connected to its original message. Follow a thread to find it in your followed-thread list and track unread replies, then return to the conversation with its context intact.

What can I find with message search?

Search checks top-level message text in conversations you can access. Thread replies and file contents are not included. Open a channel’s Files view to browse its shared attachments.

How do I keep an important message?

Save a message for yourself or pin it for easy reference in the conversation. Add useful links to channel bookmarks, and set an in-app reminder for something you want to return to later.

Can I share files in a conversation?

Yes. Attach files and images in the main conversation or a thread reply, and browse shared channel attachments in Files. The current interface accepts up to 25 MB per file.

Can I schedule a message for later?

Yes. Choose a future send time for a text message, then edit its wording or cancel it before it is sent. Scheduled messages do not include attachments, and delivery may happen shortly after the chosen time.

How do reminders work?

A reminder keeps a message or note in your in-app reminder list with a due time. Check the list for due items and return to the conversation when ready. Reminders do not send email or push alerts while Chat is closed.

Can I start a call from a conversation?

Yes. Use the call control in a channel or direct conversation, then check your camera and microphone before joining. Supported browsers can share a screen. Calls follow conversation access permissions and need an available meeting service.

Do I need a separate account for each service?

No. Your AppStruct account gives you one place to access the services in your dashboard. See the pricing page for current plans and limits. View pricing →
